Fly into Trivandrum, Kerala on January 17. We will pick you up at Trivandrum Airport and escort you to your hotel in Varkala.
1/17 - 1/24 Kovalam and Varkala Beaches, Kerala - Daily Yoga and Meditation sessions with one of the world's great teachers, Yogi Charu. - A seminar on maintaining good health in a stressful world with a local Ayurvedic doctor. - An overnight trip to the breathtaking Kerala backwaters. - An evening of traditional theater - Tara will give a seminar on "The Science of Self Realization". - Plenty of time for Ayurvedic massage, strolling on the gorgeous beaches, and swimming in the pleasing Indian Ocean. 1/25 - 1/28 Madurai & Trichy, Tamil Nadu
In Madurai you'll be struck with wonder at the magnificence of the Meenakshi Mandir. Constructed hundreds of years ago, the intricate colorful exterior speaks of a time when civilization was focused on the Spirit.
Trichy is the seat of the South Indian devotional yoga tradition. Here the mood of Bhakti (pure love) flows in the hearts of the thousands of pilgrims gracing the "temple city". But we aren't here as tourists! Throughout our stay in Tamil Nadu your guides Tara and Yogi Charu will narrate the ancient histories from the Mahabharata and Ramayana, lead you in pranayama and mantra meditation sessions, and answer your questions about Indian philosophy and culture.
Fly to Chennai and a short drive to Mamallapuram.
1/29 - 1/30 Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu
A tropical seaside town of monuments and temples, Mamallapuram is home to 1000 artisans and skillful sculptors. We'll spend our last two days leisurely. Strolling through the town, a little sea breeze pranayama and meditation, and appreciating the fine artistic talents of the locals.
We'll drive you to the airport for your flight out of Chennai on the 30th.
